How does a language sound like, beyond the words' meaning? How much does the sound of a language influence us? How does the sound of a language speak to us? The research process for the new project LOGOS MATER by Amelie Duchow begins by raising above questions. Based on the sonorous analysis of languages the composition of LOGOS MATER takes inspiration from different phonetic and acoustic sound elements associated with emotive values and provenances of our languages. This new work aims to “speak” to us in a global unique language without words that seeks to connect us, at least for a moment.Inviting everybody to contribute to her work, the artist provides a webpage in which every person can record his own voice and leave it to the artists analysis and the resulting creative process for the composition of LOGOS MATER.
